JOSH BALDWIN

President

Josh's Bio

Josh Baldwin is a publisher, filmmaker, and musician located in Lewisburg, WV. Born and raised in Huntington, WV, he attended Marshall University where he received a degree in English before moving to Europe to live and work for a year. He returned to receive his master’s degree at UNC-Wilmington before moving to Lewisburg in 2005, where, at 26 years old, he founded the Greenbrier Valley Quarterly, a cultural and lifestyle magazine that is now in its 17th year of publication. He has been awarded the Young Gun award from WV Executive (the youngest to ever receive the honor), and the State Journal’s “40 under 40.” In 2020, he was awarded the Governor’s Awards for The Arts—Individual Leadership Award. He received a number of other recognitions locally and was elected to serve two terms on Lewisburg City Council, as well as being an adjunct English professor for New River Community and Technical College. In 2013 he founded the Lewisburg Literary Festival, where he has brought dozens of renowned authors and filmmakers to Carnegie Hall for intimate interviews and talks, including David Sedaris and Tobias Wolff. He was also part of the group that founded TEDx Lewisburg and the Significant Cinema Series. In 2012, he started working on his first film, The Contender, of which he produced and directed, and won Best Feature Documentary at the WV Filmmakers Festival. In 2016-17, Baldwin produced the short documentary The Flood, winner of Best Short Documentary at WV Filmmakers Fest, and later directed the short Up on Sandusky Ridge, written by award-winning playwright Jonathan Joy. He is also the guitar player and songwriter for the rock bands The Longshots and Deep State. Currently, Baldwin is the owner of Havenbrook Media, a creative agency, and Black Lantern Productions, a video production company, as well as the bar/restaurant Briergarten, all located in Lewisburg, where he lives with his wife, Mary, and their three children—Stella, Piper, and Milo.

MARY BALDWIN

Mary's Bio

Mary has been the primary graphic design artist for Havenbrook Media, Inc. since its inception. She is the Creative Director and designer of Greenbrier Valley Quarterly, Shen Valley, and Greenbrier Living Publications. Her layout design work has won American Advertising Awards. Over the years, she has been responsible for developing brands and creative content for many businesses and non-profits throughout the state, including Carnegie Hall, Lewisburg Downtown Business Association, Lewisburg Chocolate Festival, and United Way. Additionally, Mary is also a professional photographer and has helped many businesses and individuals with stunning imagery to further their endeavors. When she is not creating, she is thinking about it and when she is not thinking about it, she is traveling with her husband and three children.

BRANDON MORGAN

Brandon's Bio

Meet Brandon! He’s the go-to guy for all things digital at Havenbrook Media, where he manages the Frederick, MD branch. Brandon’s passion for helping clients shines through in everything he does, whether it’s digital marketing, website design, SEO, or boosting a brand’s presence.

With 15 years of experience in the service industry, Brandon knows how to build strong, lasting relationships with clients. Growing up in southern West Virginia, he’s got a natural feel for what makes the Appalachian region tick, giving him a unique perspective that benefits his clients.

Outside of work, you’ll find him biking on local trails, exploring new places, or just hanging out with his husband, Mat, their daughters, Elizabeth and Mabel, and their Goldendoodle pup, Charlie.

JOHN MORRIS

Senior Consultant

John's Bio

John Morris has been in the web/graphic design business for over 20 years. He's a graduate of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Computer Animation/Multimedia. Right out of school, he worked as a graphic artist for a national rug company, Bacova Guild, designing graphics for rugs, shower curtains, and floor mats. After 12 years, he moved on to The Greenbrier Resort where he was the Web Developer/Online Graphic Artist, developing and managing websites for all Greenbrier entities, as well as all print/digital advertising campaigns. Since then he has been a freelance designer on the side, solely moving that direction 5 years ago. His web design for Smooth Ambler Spirits won Havenbrook Media a Gold Addy award.

MARK TRENT

Mark's Bio

Mark E. Trent, a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, is an Appalachian based photographer and filmmaker. Born and raised in Southern West Virginia, Trent’s intimate work spans both documentary and commercial outlets and he has created content for brands such as General Electric, Johnson and Johnson, Target, Subaru, Microsoft, Exxon Mobile, Warner Brothers, among others. Trent’s expansive eight-year opioid essay was published in The New York Times, Despair Love and Loss chronicled Trent’s long time friend Allie Rambo as she battled addiction and found recovery. Trent also directed The Words Matter, a film for Procter & Gamble which told the story of the individuals who fought to have sexual orientation added to the companies EEO policy in the early nineties. The Words Matter was awarded a Cannes Lion at the Cannes Film Festival. When not working Trent spends his time restoring his old home and Ronceverte W.V. and pursuing personal projects.
